It has been an honour to work under Mr Vincent Hoo. As the CEO, he has shown exemplary leadership not only in setting the overall strategic direction of the centre, but also in empowering his staff to exercise autonomy and independence in their teaching.

I would have to say that in my twenty years of employment with various organisations, I have learnt various values from my superiors. Nevertheless, Vincent remains as one of the more impressive and memorable superiors I have worked with, as he embodies selflessness and a call to duty. He exhibited and showed me how a great leader should be: remain open to communications, being receptive to alternatives and at times opposing voices, lead by example, willing to coach and mentor, to provide guidance and to render assistance.

Mr Hoo teaches me English. But that's just on the surface. He has the ability to do much more than that, as an ex-teacher for schools he has gathered many unique teaching styles which is sure to make every lesson better than the last. He uses his wide range of general knowledge to incorporate with his teaching to make learning more engaging and interesting. Not to mention the student learns more as well

Mr Vincent Hoo helped me to improve upon my GP for A levels. During lessons, he usually starts the lesson by introducing me to new topics via articles which he handpicks. This helps to widen my range of general knowledge and broaden my perspective, allowing me to be more confident with content when tackling essay questions. When going through practice papers, he naturally keeps the atmosphere relaxed as he is very patient and "chill". :)

Mr Hoo taught me Geography in Secondary 4. I have always failed my Geography tests no matter how much I prepare for them. I almost wanted to give up. However, Mr Hoo still saw the potential in me and he constantly encouraged me. He taught me useful exam techniques and ways to revise for tests which do not require much memorisation of the contents. Mr Hoo had totally changed my perspective of Geography as being the “boring”, “need to memorise the whole textbook” subject.

Teacher Vincent is not just any ordinary teacher. He makes the lesson fun and engaging by focusing on my interests. Besides going through the textbooks, he also exposed me to current affairs around the world and helped me gain general knowledge.

Mr Hoo was first introduced by my sister who saw great improvement in her son's result. This was further testified with my girl's PSLE English result with a grade A (from Grade B in SA1). My girl's learning process was very much a 2-way communication process. Mr Hoo listened and guided her patiently throughout. Other than written English skills, my girl also benefited greatly in communicating skills with his good spoken English.
